What is the start-up story behind your business?
I took an interest in creating a marketplace in 2008 when the recession hit. I worked in corporate trading markets and realized many deficiencies and inadequate or non existent technologies.
To what do you attribute your company’s recent achievements?
A great team and incredibly bright and successful spheres of influence.
What pieces of advice would you give aspiring entrepreneurs?
Be as intuitive as possible at all times, and train your consciousness according to what you are trying to achieve.
Describe/outline your typical day?
There is no typical day. Being CEO, I am responsible for grasping multiple dimensions of developing, maintaining and sustaining the business. These responsibilities lead me to new places, people and information. Everyday is a learning experience.
Where did you seek initial funding?
Family first for the small stuff. We’re in the process of raising an angel round now.
What stops you from throwing in the towel and giving up during those frustrating day of running your business?
I love what I do. Take all that comes, good or bad as a learning experience and move forward. Remain as intuitive as possible and stay confident in decisions.
Who has influenced you the most and been your greatest inspiration?
My family and John Bonevich. His perspective on life and accomplishments per day are impressive and inspiring. If I had to sum up his advice, it would be “Make a friend” and “You don’t have to be the sharpest knife in the draw, but you should know which knives are sharpest”
Where do you see yourself and your business in 5 years? 10 years?
We live in a very unpredictable time. We are going to continue to integrate our model in as many markets as possible, adapt to business conditions and make the world a better place. We have very exciting product roll outs lined up over the next few years. I look forward to using our technology to provide resource abundance.
In one word characterize your life as an entrepreneur.
If you could meet anyone, who would it be and why?
Bill Clinton, because he is my favorite of the most recent presidents and I think he can help us be more effective with the MNX model.
What is the typical appropriate attire for daily business?
Unfortunately suits, although I stick to slacks and a button down as much as possible.
In your opinion, what setting is most productive for holding a business meeting?
Any environment in which all parties are most comfortable with each other.
How many hours a week do you spend working on your company?
It varies from 60-100 depending on current tasks at hand.
How do you achieve balance in your life? Home life vs Work.
Meditate and make sure to take at least an hour out of every day to focus on non work related life.
How did you build your team? Do you feel like you have built a strong group of individuals initially?
I continue to develop a great team because I am able to identify peoples skills and fit them into the model. Also, I can communicate with my team so they understand their role. Our team is strong, and as we grow & develop we will only grow stronger.
